CWIC is a partnership of voluntary sector infrastructure organisations who share their knowledge and experience and collaborate on:
« service delivery
« lobbying
« funding
« purchasing
in order to strengthen the capacity and the voice of infrastructure services for the benefit of frontline voluntary and community groups.
CWIC defines infrastructure as
‘services strengthening physical facilities, structures, systems and relationships, as well as the people, knowledge and skills that help frontline (voluntary) organisations achieve their aims’
CWIC exists to help voluntary sector infrastructure organisations in Coventry and Warwickshire to do their jobs better …… meaning improving how we work together to help frontline organisations be more effective, efficient and have a voice.
CWIC Members - Council of Disabled People, Co-operative Development Agency, Coventry Diocese, Coventry Ethnic Minority Action Partnership, CSW Sport, Heart of England Community Foundation, Voluntary Actions in Coventry, Stratford-on-Avon and Warwickshire, Volunteer Centres in North Warwickshire and Nuneaton and Bedworth, Warwickshire Association of Youth Clubs, Warwickshire Children Voluntary Youth Organisations, Warwickshire Race Equality Partnership and Warwickshire Rural Community Council.
In 2009 CWIC members are working together to:
* increase and sustain opportunities for volunteering
* support organisations access to and use of quality standards
* enable the sector to have a more effective voice through the framework of an Assembly
