Vision Statement:

CLIO’s vision is of a voluntary and community sector which retains its independence, assists and supports local communities whilst working closely with public sector agencies in four distinct Local Authority areas. CLIO will provide a platform for sharing best practice, across geographic and administrative boundaries, thus maximising the strength of the sector within the Black Country.

Aims and Objectives:

To build the profile of CLIO to ensure it is recognised by all stakeholders as representing the combined “strength” of the voluntary and community sector within the 4 administrative areas which make up the Black Country.

To ensure that CLIO organisations can offer high quality support services to front line organisations by sharing knowledge and experience wherever possible.

To engage with public sector representatives across the four Black Country boroughs to present the views of the sector regarding public sector developments in (the short term) commissioning/procurement and changes to Local Area Agreements and, longer term, on the implications of Multi Area Agreements and the emphasis on City Region Strategy.

To “guarantee” access to support services which address local needs by keeping under review the changing needs of front line groups. This to be achieved by sharing research etc on an on going basis.
